17/365: “Death” by White Lies
I just spent way too long going through my vast collection 2000s post-punk music in iTunes trying to remember who made this song. All apologies to White Lies for not remembering immediately because this track is fire. As far as Debut-Album-Track-1 go, “Death” is about as good as it gets. I never listened to anything past their 2009 debut album To Lose My Life but if Metacritic is to be trusted, White Lies keep getting better with each album. With great tracks like “Death” and “Farewell to the Fairground”, I should have probably made more of an effort to keep up with them but I’m here now to make up for lost time. White Lies’ late 2016 album Friends is next up in my queue.
