12/365: “I Dare You” by The xx
If you look on iTunes or Amazon or Spotify or really anywhere on The Internet, it would appear that the album artwork for The xx’s new record I See You looks like shadowy silhouettes of the three band members looking through a distorted sheet of glass with their bold signature X embossed in the middle.
This is an illusion.
Today, I purchased a physical copy of I See You and the cover is simply a radiant reflective silver, devoid of any details except for the X. What a revelation that the digital artwork for I See You appears to be a photograph of Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith (Jamie xx) looking at their reflection in the cover.
I see you, The xx, I see you.
