12/365: “Every Time the Sun Comes Up” by Sharon Van Etten
Last week I wrote about watching the Netflix series The OA and the Majical Cloudz song that was featured in a particularly moving scene. I don’t know how I missed it but I just learned that indie singer/songwriter Sharon Van Etten not only contributed to the soundtrack of the show but also played Rachel. I feel like a fool for not noticing. Her last two albums Tramp (2012) and Are We There (2014) are essential listening from an indispensable talent and “Every Time the Sun Comes Up” is among her best songs to date.
