29/365: “Talk To Me” by Run the Jewels
Something pretty cool happened today. I didn’t think it was going to be happen but it did. Run the Jewels came to Arizona today and one of my work colleagues just happened to know the tour manager. I got in touch with him and moments before Killer Mike and El-P took the stage, I met up with him and got a Goodfellas-esque trip behind the scenes. I briefly met up with El-P while he was smoking a cigarette outside and then was ushered into their tour bus where Killer Mike was watching Shark Tank. Mike asked about whether he should address the crowd as Phoenix or Tempe and I encouraged him to just address all of Arizona. The whole ordeal only lasted less than five minutes but today I got to meet some of my favorite musicians and that’s pretty damn cool.
